For the One

Blogging has turned out differently than I expected. When I first started blogging two years ago, I thought I’d focus on running—training updates, race recaps, maybe a little encouragement for other runners. But over time, it’s shifted. These posts have become weekly devotionals—an outlet for my thoughts, questions, and the things God is teaching me. A glimpse into my everyday life.
Some weeks, I wonder if anyone is reading. I hit “publish” not knowing if it matters. But then, out of the blue, a note shows up. A text. A kind comment. And I remember: it’s worth it for the one.
Jesus talked about the one. The shepherd who left the ninety-nine to go after the one lost sheep (Luke 15:4). He taught us that every soul matters. Even in the Old Testament, God told Abraham He would have spared Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of just a few righteous people (Genesis 18:32).
The other week I wrote about the “lesser parts”—those roles or ministries that seem small or unimportant. But what if we’re called to something that only reaches one? Would it still be worth it?
Jesus says yes.
So I’ll keep writing.
For the one who reads.
For the one who needs a reminder of truth or hope.
For the one who needs to know they’re not alone.
Because the One went to the cross for me.
Now here’s the challenge:
What’s your thing? The thing God has placed on your heart—the way He’s called you to reach out to others?
Do you ever question whether it’s worth the effort?
This week, ask God to confirm that you’re on the right track.
“He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever he does prospers.”—Psalm 1:3
May you yield fruit in season. And may whatever you do prosper.
